Intentional Learning Template - For planned, intentional learning experiences

The Intentional template assists the user to document a plan for engaging a child/children following an initiator.

To access this function select Room > Activities > Intentional (via the large cross bottom right of page)

The user edits the Planned Date to reflect when the experience will ideally be implemented.

1      Children involved:      The user clicks on Select Children'' and clicks on each child's name that is to be included in the plan

2      Initiator:      This will be prefilled if this Intentional learning experiences is following on from another Learning Experience you have documented. Otherwise, you can type in what initiated this plan.

3      Activity:      The user creates and documents information about the activity. All fields are optional so us whichever fields you wish.

Save as draft is an option at any stage, so if you only get to plan a little bit at a time, that's not a problem. Save, and go back to it.

4.      Implement and Reflection:      Once the plan has been implemented, this is the area you fill in. This includes adding photos and insights. The insight will be shown to the parent if shared, so can be used for little notes about the child's reaction to the experience or any extras you wish to pass on to the parent. There is a space for internal notes which are not shared to the parent.

The user has the option of tagging the whole plan as an Internal only plan by ticking the box.  This is commonly used for behavior improvement plans.

5.      Follow up:       Users can select a follow up activity if they wish. There is the option to add a Montessori Readiness Indicator, and/or another Intentional plan to follow on with.

6.      Link Goals:      The user has the option of linking the learning experience to Montessori, NQF and Regional Based goals.   All linking between Montessori goals and the NQF has been automatically done. Users are welcome to add to the list or remove any non-relevant goals.

The user Saves the template (Save as Draft is available) and the user will be taken back to the Activity summary page where the template will be displayed in the Implemented section.

When the template is ready to be approved, the approver opens the template, updates the status top left to Approved and saves. The template will be displayed in the Approved section and a red 'up arrow' will indicate that it is ready to send to a parent.

When it's time to send to parent, simply click the red up arrow, approve the tailored parent template and associated children by ticking and send to parent.  The user will be taken back to the Activity summary page where the template will be displayed in the Approved section with a green tick indicating it has been sent to parent(s).

TIP:  When adding a comment or an internal note, click in the field on a tablet and use voice to text to document.  Once finished, edit any differences.
